Rationale: Approximately a third of patients with epilepsy have drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). For patients with DRE, vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) is a minimally invasive treatment option, especially for patients who are not candidates for resective epilepsy surgery. The goal of this study is to identify patients for whom VNS is more likely to provide meaningful seizure improvement.
